SDA and GMV will partner with satellite operators, SSA data providers, and other SSA agencies to improve collaboration and strengthen its commitment to act as an integration hub for the enhancement of global space traffic coordination (STC) services. SDA is an international organization that brings together satellite operators to support the controlled, reliable, secure, and efficient sharing of data critical to flight safety and ensuring the integrity of the space environment. The SSP will leverage sixteen years of operational experience and take advantage of new and emerging technologies, space situational awareness (SSA) data, and concepts for STC to effectively meet new challenges posed by the rapid increase in satellites in orbit and scheduled for launch. SDA selected GMV using a competitive process during which SDA received multiple proposals. GMV demonstrated having the leading technical, operational, customer-focused, and cybersecurity credentials that SDA requires and, moreover, is fully aligned with its non-profit model and its commitment to space sustainability.GMV’s involvement and experience in the development and support of critical public STC initiatives including European Union Space Surveillance and Tracking (EU SST) and the U.S. Department of Commerce Traffic Coordination for Space (TraCSS), will retain SDA’s position at the forefront of space safety capabilities.
