ION 2017

GMV was present at the latest ION GNSS, the 30th International Technical Meeting of the Satellite Division of the Institute of Navigation, held from 25 to 29 September 2017 in the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

ION GNSS+ is the world’s biggest technical meeting and showcase of GNSS service and product technology. Every year it brings together international leaders in GNSS and other positioning-, navigation- and timing-related fields to show the latest research, introduce new technology, debate current policies, demonstrate products and swap ideas.

In keeping with its leadership position in the satellite-navigation market, GMV as usual played an upfront role at the conference, with a total of seven participants from its Madrid and Lisbon work centers. GMV presented seven papers as main author and contributed to a further four as co-author. The presented articles took in diverse topics such as SBAS and PPP technology, GNSS signal processing, analysis of the stability of onboard clocks on Galileo satellites, GNSS signal authentication technology and development of GNSS receivers for autonomous vehicles. Especially noteworthy and impactful where its papers dealing the SBAS/PPP system rolled out in Australia.

GMV also ran a stand displaying its inhouse family of magicGNSS products plus other satellite-navigation apps and developments. This year’s stand also featured a real-time performance monitor of the positioning service provided by the SBAS/PPP system deployed in Australia.
