TechFest lecture cycle: data use

Data are a valuable source of information and as such coveted by today’s society. Many professionals are working daily with data to create new aps, to carry out research and analysis that raises the value of this data. Their aim in doing so is to help in decision making or benefit companies and institutions.

The first TechFest festival, to be held on 2 May, will bring together three great data professionals who are going to describe their day-to-day dealings with this data and explain what it is all about. Carlos Sahuquillo, Security Consultant at GMV Secure e-Solutions and member of the ISACA Valencia Chapter and the Cloud Security Alliance, will be one of the lecturers, giving the paper “What use do companies make of our data?”

Carlos will explain what type of information is kept by major firms on each one of us and with what purpose (sometimes simply to improve their service, other times for advertising purposes and yet others to earn money from this data).
