SESP 2017

GMV is taking part in the "Workshop on Simulation and EGSE for Space Programmes", SESP 2017, to be held in ESA / ESTEC, Noordwijk, the Netherlands, from 28-30 March 2017.

For more than 20 years, the workshop has been organized by ESA on a bi-annual basis. In 2010, the scope of SESP was widened to include the subject areas and organizational functions of the closely associated Workshop on Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).

The overall context of the Workshop is Space Systems Design and Verification. It is a uniquely focused forum where representatives of space agencies and industry can present and discuss the current state-of-the-art as well as future trends and needs. The SESP workshop aspires to serve as a breeding ground for new ideas and to trigger and encourage plans for future work.

GMV will be giving two papers/posters: the first by Lucía Soto under the title “Biblos: Building blocks for earth observation mission performance simulators”. The second, under the theme “EGSE & AIT processes” and with the title “EGS-CC User Interface Framework”, will be given by Juan María Carranza with the participation of Mauro Pecchioli, Isabel del Rey Canteli, Alfredo Rumbero Núñez and Martin Götzelmann.

Development of the European Ground Segment (EGS-CC) is now fully underway, with several publications already delivered to the European Space Agency (ESA) and the main stakeholders. The paper will give a brief run-through of the state of the project and take stock of the system’s current capabilities. Functions like monitoring and control capacities, automation, will also be shown by means of user-defined demos.
