Details

2014 marked the 50th anniversary of European cooperation in space exploration. Half a century of feats in which Spain’s space industry has played a key part.

GMV is participating in the event called ´España en el Espacio: proyectamos el futuro´ (Spain in Space: Designing the Future) put on by Marca España (Brand Spain) on 12 June. Its aim is to boost Spain’s space potential, a growth sector that is essential for the development of technologies to improve the quality of life.

In the last decade Spain’s space industry has contributed towards some of the outstanding advances both of the European Space Agency and NASA, and its input has been crucial in many space missions. The space sector is looking ahead with optimism, but it is also aware of the need of further development to be able to rise to the future challenges. These challenges include increasing competitiveness, efficiency and innovation.

Miguel Ángel Martínez Olagüe, GMV’s Corporate Development Manager, will be taking part in the panel discussion ´Space in the service of citizens; future challenges ´ together with representatives from the European Commission, the European Space Agency, the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism and Hispasat.
