After an official reception held with military honors and the official welcoming ceremony for the guests, featuring music played by the Musical Unit of the Spanish Royal Guard, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presented a traditional formal dinner in the Throne Room.During the evening, the King made reference to the shared values that unite Spain and Germany, which are based on principles such as freedom, democracy, and social justice, and he emphasized the potential of Spanish companies as strategic partners for diversifying European supply chains. He also stressed the shared responsibility that the two countries have for enhancing the European Union’s competitiveness and autonomy, in an international context characterized by high levels of uncertainty. In turn, President Steinmeier praised the strength of the existing Spanish-German relations, and he pointed out the key role that the two countries will continue to play in the transformations taking place throughout Europe.The event brought together senior representatives of the State, members of the Government, institutional leaders and prominent figures from the business, scientific and cultural spheres. The presence of GMV’s president, whose personal and professional ties with Germany have accompanied her career, further reinforces the company’s role as a consolidated technological partner in Europe, with a well-established presence in Germany. The occasion also offered a meaningful opportunity to reaffirm GMV’s commitment to contributing to the country’s innovation landscape and to strengthening Spanish-German industrial cooperation in areas such as space, defense and security.
