Paris Air Show celebrates aeronautics excellence

Paris–Le Bourget Airport opened its doors after four years to host the 54th Paris Air Show, a landmark event for the global aeronautics industry. GMV participated in the event, which took place from 19 to 25 June, with a company stand in the Spanish pavilion.

This biyearly show has been captivating industry professionals, aviation enthusiasts, and visitors from all over the world since it first took place in 1909. It is also a premier platform for demonstrating cutting-edge technology, showcasing industry innovations, and facilitating business collaborations. For over 100 years, the Paris Air Show has played a pivotal role in bringing aviation into the future. The event has grown in scale and importance in this time, consistently attracting the world’s leading aerospace companies, government delegations, and aviation enthusiasts alike.

GMV is a supplier of solutions that are relied upon by aeronautics manufacturers, air navigation service providers, aviation organizations, and system operators. The company also provides engineering services and develops leading-edge systems for the aeronautics industry, always in line with current regulations and the strictest quality requirements. At its stand, it exhibited the latest technological advances in aeronautical systems that it has had a hand in through major European programs, including the navigation system for the ATLANTE unmanned aerial vehicle’s flight control computer and the CRANE system for controlling the crane on the A400M. It also presented a wide range of solutions for processing and distributing intelligence information from remotely piloted aircraft systems.

On Spain’s Aeronautics Day, GMV’s stand was attended by our president, Mónica Martínez, and visited by important institutional figures. Among those present were the Secretary of State for Defense, María Amparo Valcarce; Air Force General Javier Salto Martínez-Avial; the EDA’s Director of Industry, Emilio Fajardo; and the Secretary for Economic Development of Yucatán, Ernesto Herrera Novelo, among others.

GMV is a major participant in top-tier European aeronautics programs, such as EURODRONE, ATLANTE, and A400M. It is responsible for key activities, including the complete design of critical subsystems (achieving DO-178B/DO-254 DAL-A), advanced mission systems, onboard hardware and software, navigation, and approach and simulation systems. As a member of the SATNUS consortium, it also coordinates the Remote Carriers Technology Pillar of the NGWS/FCAS program.
