Hispasat 30W-6, built from Space Systems Loral’s LS-1300 platform, is the fourth satellite of Hispasat’s fleet. GMV is responsible for developing the operational satellite-monitoring and –control and flight-dynamics systems, using its renowned inhouse products hifly® and focusGEO, already used in the rest of Hispasat’s fleet. Hispasat 30W-6 will replace Hispasat1D (Hispasat 30W-4), becoming the seventh member of the up-and-running satellite fleet. With a useful life of over 15 years this 6-ton satellite will provide telecommunications services to improve capacities in Hispasat’s current operating areas.
