GMV participa en el coloquio de enerTIC sobre resiliencia y sostenibilidad en el sector energético

Almudena Nieto, Business Development Manager of GMV's Industry Sector, took part in the professional colloquium hosted by the Platform enerTIC: "NIS2 and ESG in energy and utilities: security, resilience and sustainability," held on April 22 in Madrid. The meeting brought together leaders from the energy and technology sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities that digitalization, sustainability, and cybersecurity pose for energy companies in a context of unprecedented transformation.

During her speech, Almudena Nieto highlighted the strategic role played by digitalization as a lever for competitiveness and sustainability with technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous robotics, IoT, and quantum computing—for improving operational efficiency, employee safety, and building a more resilient energy model. He further stressed that the NIS2 regulation can be an opportunity to help energy companies reach the necessary level of maturity and build more resilient models.

The colloquium is part of enerTIC's initiatives aimed at fostering public-private collaboration and knowledge sharing around energy transition, technological innovation, and sustainability. The event was attended by executives and experts from companies such as Moeve, Iberdrola, EDP, Engie, Naturgy, Shell, Nedgia, Capital Energy, and Red Eléctrica, as well as institutional and academic representatives.

Among the main conclusions of the symposium, it was highlighted that the European Directive NIS2 and ESG criteria are redefining the strategies of the energy sector, forcing companies to strengthen their digital resilience and advance in their sustainability commitments. The NIS2 expands cybersecurity obligations, requiring direct involvement of senior management in digital risk management and promoting a cross-cutting security culture in organizations. In parallel, ESG criteria drive decisive action to reduce the carbon footprint and ensure sustainable growth. In this context the integration of advanced digital technologies is seen as a key tool for adapting infrastructures, optimizing energy consumption and guaranteeing operational security, essential factors for the sector's future competitiveness.

GMV's participation in this forum reaffirms its commitment to the digital transformation of the energy sector and its role as a technological partner in the development of solutions geared towards a smarter, safer, and more sustainable industry.
