GMV aborda los retos de la IA industrial en el German-Spanish Digital Industry Day

GMV participated in the latest edition of the German-Spanish Digital Industry Day, held in Madrid on 30 April and organized by the German Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Spain. The event brought together top-level representatives from government institutions, business, and the tech sector to discuss the main challenges and opportunities of digitalization and artificial intelligence in Europe.

The event was attended by the parliamentary state secretary of the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernization, Thomas Jarzombek, and opening remarks were given by the managing director of the German Chamber of Commerce, Mischa Groh, and the German ambassador to Spain, Maria Margarete Gosse. The ambassador highlighted the collaboration between the two countries as a key element in driving the digitalization of industry and public services, as well as strengthening a competitive and resilient European digital ecosystem.

GMV participated in the round-table discussion on “AI-Driven Industry: From Automation to Competitive Advantage,” represented by Luis Fernando Álvarez-Gascón, general manager of GMV’s Secure e-Solutions. The conversation also brought together Ricardo Ramos, CEO Spain & Southwest Europe Region of Siemens Mobility Spain; Manuel Lavín, CEO of GFT Spain; and Yon Munilla, Business Development Director of IndraMind, moderated by Almudena de la Mata, managing partner at Blockchain Intelligence.

In his remarks, Álvarez-Gascón addressed the main challenges associated with the scaling of artificial intelligence in industrial environments, noting that, in addition to the technical challenges involving data, infrastructure, and validation in critical systems, organizations must also tackle the classic organizational barriers, without losing sight of governance.

He also stressed GMV’s commitment to the responsible and reliable development of AI-based solutions: “While the actual scope and application guidelines of the AI Act are being finalized, we at GMV have taken a step forward with certification under the ISO/IEC 42001 standard, which will facilitate the development of models by integrating the right processes into our AI ‘factory.’”

The event concluded with remarks by the president of the German Chamber of Commerce, Osmar Polo, who stressed the strategic importance of the economic relationship between Spain and Germany in an era marked by digital transformation and artificial intelligence, while also highlighting the German Chamber of Commerce’s role in boosting European competitiveness by acting as a bridge between companies and institutions.
