The 1st Cycle 2025 Harmonisation Meeting, organized by the European Space Agency (ESA), aims to coordinate research and development (R&D) work in the European space sector. Its goal is to lay solid technological foundations that will ensure the industry’s global competitiveness and support the success of future space missions.

The event will be held from 11–13 February in a hybrid format, allowing for on-site participation at ESTEC’s facilities in the Netherlands, as well as online attendance via WebEx. Participants in the sessions will share updates on national capabilities, ongoing and planned activities, strategic priorities, and future mission requirements. They will also review drafts of technology harmonization roadmaps in key areas such as on-board radio navigation receivers, application of artificial intelligence in space systems, TT&C transponders and payload data transmitters, critical active RF technologies, and functional verification and mission operations systems.

The meeting is open to delegates from ESA Member States, Associate Members, and Cooperating States, as well as members of the Technology Harmonisation Advisory Group (THAG), representatives of European institutions such as the European Commission, the European Defence Agency, and the European Southern Observatory, and key players from the European and Canadian space industry, including research organizations and trade associations.

Ambroise Bidaux-Sokołowski, GMV’s division head for Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), will give a presentation entitled “On-Board Radio Navigation Receivers.”
