A shifting threat landscape

The ATM threat landscape in the United States has changed dramatically

While physical ram-raids once dominated headlines, fraud-driven attacks, particularly jackpotting and cash-out attacks, now represent the majority of ATM crime in the U.S. As of late 2025, fraud accounts for approximately 72% of reported ATM criminal activity, overtaking purely physical attacks.

Today’s attackers are no longer opportunistic. They are organized, technically sophisticated, and persistent.

General information

Solutions to jackpotting

How Jackpotting Attacks Are Evolving?
  • Malware-Driven Cash-Out Attacks
Organized crime groups have siphoned tens of millions of dollars from U.S. ATMs using malware such as Ploutus. Since 2021, more than 1,500 jackpotting incidents have been reported nationwide, with losses exceeding $40 million.
  • New Attack Vectors Targeting the ATM Core
Attackers are now leveraging Direct Memory Access (DMA) techniques, inserting PCIe devices directly into the ATM PC core to bypass traditional defenses and deploy malware.
If It’s not on the list, It doesn’t run. Period.

Checker’s ATM-specific application whitelisting ensures that only authorized software can execute.
Malware such as Ploutus (and its variants) is blocked before it can issue a single dispense command.

No signatures.
No reactive cleanup.
Just enforced control.

Lock down the ATM core - Encryption beyond the vault

Physical access no longer guarantees compromise.

Checker delivers hard disk encryption and DMA protections designed specifically for ATM environments, ensuring that even if attackers reach the hardware layer, your data, applications, and cash remain protected.

Security controls engineered for real-world ATM attack scenarios, without disrupting availability or operations.
