Rethink Action

RethinkAction is a cross-sectoral initiative aimed at developing a user-friendly decision-making platform that delivers actionable information on climate change to support local land-use planning. The platform is tailored to meet the diverse needs of end-users across sectors, promoting informed and sustainable land management.

GMV leads key technical activities within the project, including data processing for climate and land use modelling, data enrichment for assessments, and the creation of high-resolution land use maps and GIS databases. These mapping tools play a critical role in visualizing the spatial distribution of climate-related data, thereby enhancing the understanding of climate hazards and facilitating the identification of associated risks. GMV also contributes to gathering user requirements and developing the visual map interface integrated into the RethinkAction platform.

Coordinated by CARTIF, the project brings together 13 partners from 9 European countries.

RethinkAction supports the EU Green Deal objectives and aligns with international climate frameworks such as the Paris Agreement. It highlights the pivotal role of land use planning in achieving long-term climate mitigation goals and contributes directly to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by emphasizing the strategic value of land resources.
