EUROCAE WG 62 GALILEO

From 27 November to 1 December GMV is hosting the latest meeting of Working Group 62 of the European aviation-standardization organization (EUROCAE), currently working on standardization of Galileo and dual frequency and multi constellation SBAS.

EUROCAE (European Organization for Civil Aviation Equipment) is a non-profit organization set up in Switzerland in 1963 to create standards for avionics electronics. Its members come from international aeronautics authorities, aircraft manufacturers, air-security service providers, airlines, airport operators and other stakeholders. The organization acts as the overarching framework in which several aeronautics working groups swap notes on the development of standards.

For a week GMV will be host of the WG62 meeting, a group it belongs to. It was created to draw up standards for next-generation receivers of the Global Navigation Satellite System GNSS. These new receivers will be able to process the signals of all the following: Galileo, Europe’s worldwide satellite navigation system; the constellation of the global positioning system (GPS), as well as the key of the augmentation system, the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) or any other available satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS).

To conclude the encounter GMV will offer the 40+ attendees a run-through of the company’s activities, especially in the space sector, courtesy of Pedro J. Schoch, Corporate Development Manager, and Miguel Ángel Molina, GMV’s Programs and Business Development Manager, Aerospace.
