Yesterday saw the end of one of the world’s most prestigious satnav events, the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit. The event was backed by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology (MWMET), together with the European Commission, the European Space Agency, representatives from various European ministries and delegates from institutions of the United States, Russia, China and Japan.

With a track record of over 15 years behind it, this summit is the perfect shop-window for striking up relations with the main navigation stakeholders not only at European but also world level, including space agencies, the European Commission, the European GNSS Agency (GSA) and the industry in general.

With a rollcall of over 80 speakers, the summit showcased the latest technological breakthroughs, future prospects and also tabled questions about the current GNSS systems (Galileo, GLONASS, GPS or BeiDou), among other issues.

GMV was able to make important contacts and establish far-reaching relations for projects and opportunities currently underway. It was also one of only 16 exhibitors at the 2018 event, displaying magicUT, an integrated user terminal supporting SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System) and PPP (precise point positioning) apps and enabling performance assessment in the various scenarios and working environments.

magicUT is a spinoff from GMV’s SBAS technology promotion projects carried out in Australia in collaboration with Geoscience Australia (GA) and the Australia and New Zealand Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information (CRCSI).
