At Advanced Manufacturing Barcelona, GMV highlights the role of AI and robotics in the factories of the future

On 2 October, GMV participated in Advanced Manufacturing Barcelona, one of the leading events for the industrial sector, where we tackled the challenges and opportunities of intelligent automation. One of the speakers at HispaRob’s round-table discussion on “Robots with intelligence: challenges and opportunities for the factories of the future,” was Ángel C. Lázaro, head of robotics and automation for GMV’s Industry Sector.

The discussion analyzed how artificial intelligence applied to robotics is redefining the industrial paradigm, driving a new production model characterized by autonomy, flexibility, and collaboration between humans and machines. The speakers agreed that AI is not meant to replace professionals, but rather to enhance their decision-making abilities and free up time for higher value-added tasks.

“The combination of artificial intelligence and robotics is changing the course of industry, ushering in a new era where the autonomy and adaptability of machines will define the evolution of the factories of the future,” said Ángel C. Lázaro. He also noted the dizzying pace of progress of these technologies and the need to prepare for a natural coexistence with robots capable of learning, interpreting their environment, and performing tasks with increasing autonomy.
