Basic training in robotics for construction and potential applications

Share
Details
GMV participa en el Programa Formación Básica en Robótica para Construcción y Posibles Aplicaciones

GMV is lending its expertise to a basic training program focused on robotics for construction and its potential applications. The program is organized by the Spanish Construction Technology Platform (PTEC), an initiative designed to introduce robotic technologies to the building and civil engineering sector.

Ángel C. Lázaro, Head of Industry Robotics and Automation at GMV, will speak on April 9 in “Block 2. Applied Robotics: Real Cases and Opportunities on Site.” This session will explore the use of robotics in autonomous inspection processes based on vision-language models (VLMs), examining the convergence between autonomous mobile robotics and these advanced AI systems.

It will focus particularly on VLMs’ ability to surmount the limitations of traditional computer vision, equipping robots to interpret their surroundings from a contextual and semantic perspective. This approach provides a form of general-purpose “cognitive understanding” that allows systems not only to navigate and capture visual data, but also to interpret complex and unstructured environments—transforming simple data acquisition into intelligent, adaptive autonomous inspection processes geared towards decision-making.
