atlas GMV: BlackBerry® Enterprise Solution Now Available for Linux Email Users
atlas GMV® is a software product that enables the use of BlackBerry® smartphones to access open source email, which is usually based on Linux.
atlas GMV® has been designed as a complement to the mobile email solution provided by Research In Motion®, which currently supports Microsoft®, Lotus® and Novell® mail architectures only.
Installing atlas GMV® together with the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server gives Linux email users access to push email and synchronization of PIM (Personal Information Management) objects such as contacts and appointments, through their BlackBerry® smartphones.

However, up to now access to push email on BlackBerry® smartphones has been limited by the organization's email architecture, since it was necessary to have a solution based on Microsoft Exchange®, IBM Lotus Domino® or Novell GroupWise®.
