General Manager of Defense and Security
Manuel Pérez Cortés graduated as aeronautical engineer in 1982 and then took his PhD in aeronautical engineering from the UPM in 1985. He then topped up his training with a PDD (“Executive Management Program”) from the IESE Business School. He has been a fully tenured university professor of the Higher School of Aeronautical Engineers (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Aeronáuticos) of the UPM since 1987.
His career has always been closely linked to the university, where he has been lecturing since the end of his own studies, and also with GMV, where he has worked since its creation in 1984.
Within GMV he has worked in various fields, especially in the development of space-, defense- and security-applications, both in satellite navigation systems and in training-, research- and engineering-simulators in various types of vehicles. Other areas he has worked in are command and control systems and, in general, in the integration of information systems. In GMV he has held several posts and is currently General Manager of Defense and Security.
