BLACKBERRY® ENTERPRISE SOLUTION
NOW AVAILABLE FOR LINUX EMAIL USERS
atlas GMV® is a software product that enables the use of BlackBerry® devices to access open source email, which is usually based on Linux. atlas GMV® has been designed as a complement to the mobile email solution provided by Research In Motion®, which currently supports Microsoft®, Lotus® and Novell® mail architectures only. atlas GMV® has been designed as a connector. It connects the MS Exchange version of RIM’s BlackBerry® Enterprise Server (BES) to any Linux email architecture that support the SMTP and IMAP4 standards. The connector enables Linux email users to access push email and synchronization of PIM (Personal Information Management) objects such as contacts and appointments, through their BlackBerry® smartphones in a BES environment. The connector is installed in the BES server and supports BlackBerry service for up to 1000 mobile users per BES instance while fully preserving BES functionality and user experience. atlas GMV® connects BES to world class mail relays and servers such as Exim, qmail, Sendmail, postfix, CourierIMAP, Dovecot, Cyrus, Zimbra, OpenXchange, among others.
